Someone had suggested that I shared this on this blog so, even though it’s over 2 months old, I’m posting it. It’s apt, seeing as how job numbers came out today.

The word is spelled “blatant,” not “blantant.”
I love your visualizations. Not sure how, but I came across your blog a few months ago and I’m so happy I did.
Keep up the great work!!
This brings up an interesting connection with birth rates and economics: currently most birth rates worldwide are below 2.1 children per family, the number required to maintain a constant population. This means that in the next generation, there will be siginificantly more seinors in retirement than “younger” individuals in the labor force, meaning that the labor force will be significantly diminished in the future simply due to the fact that parents aren’t having as many kids. This is going result in a massive shortfall in the number of workforce laborers, and will have a seriously negative impact on national economies. Greg,
How embarrassing! Damn wordpress doesn’t do spell check on my titles. Thanks for the catch.
You missed the 17 people that work in government. They are clearly in the top group and represent 40% of the labor pool. So we really have more like 70 in the top group and 30 in the support group. *That* is unprecedented.
Self-promotion is good when the stuff your promoting is solid.
Good work on this.
